The Chickasaw Indian's shelter was a roundhouse. It was made out of wooden poles covered with bark and clay. Some unique features of the roundhouses were that dances and ceremonies were held there. Also it was sometimes used as a shelter in the daytime for elders. The roundhouse was shaped like a circle with a upside down ice cream cone shaped roof made out of straw.
